Old friends, new home

Hello! This is just a brief note to explain why there are suddenly some blog posts that predate the founding of Lost Coast Advocacy.

Once upon a time, I was an MD. When I first left clinical practice (in the first year or two), I wanted to write about my experience as a provider. I did a little bit of that at drlaurenwheeler.com and over on KevinMD too (though mostly anonymously there).

I decided it didn’t make sense for me to try to maintain that old web space and this one you’re in now and Upwork and LinkedIn…well you get the idea. So I’ve moved all of my work here. You will notice an editorial note at the top of each of these transferred blogs too - just to keep things transparent.

In the future, I mostly plan to use this website to write about advocacy things, but who knows! If I’ve learned anything over the last 5 years its that I need flexibility in my career and writing plans. Just like you need flexibility in your health care plans.
